Take it to the Cross

One thing we often hear in our Christian walk is whatever struggles we are having – Take it to the Cross. Whatever awaits us, whatever our journey is the key is always this simple principle.  The cross is the centre of our life. It is where we go when we are sad, when we are downcast. When we are joyful.  When we are at peace. It’s where we lay it all down. Where we ask for forgiveness.  Where we meet God and give up doing all things in our own strength and trusting God to take the reigns and lead us on.

The Cross is the source of life, and freedom which may seem odd to some. But Jesus died for our sins so that we can be free. The Cross is where life is. You choose life. Or you choose the path of darkness. What do you choose? I choose life. I choose to have a relationship with my Lord Jesus as he knows the way, the truth and the light and I can experience much healing despite whatever circumstances I face. God is faithful. He does not forsake us. He cares. He loves us.

God says come to me all you are weary and I shall give you rest. My yoke is easy, my burden light. When  we lay it all down we can learn to look upwards to the cross rather than towards ourselves. We learn to love and to forgive, we learn to stop holding grudges against others. Father forgive them for they know not what they do.

The Cross is where healing takes place. It’s where life occurs. It’s the place of sweet surrender. It’s where we find our rest.
