2 Corinthians 5.17 – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!
Life is like a river. It bends, it curves. It veers of course or it takes you to places that you didn’t think existed. Life took me by surprise about five weeks ago when I was given an ultimatum. It didn’t frighten me. I had a deep sense of peace within me, knowing that my partner and the Lord our God is walking beside me on this journey. I am not alone – this time. I was never alone. I am not afraid for God knows the plans he has for us.
Last year my life was drastically different to what it is today. I have colour in my life again. I am alive and well. Friday, just gone I finished at a company I was working for a period of time, and I knew it had come to an end. I applied endlessly for jobs. Only had two interviews. None were successful unfortunately. But the Lord is in control – not I.
Sometimes God strips everything away from us in order for us to become fully dependent on him again and for us to lean on him and for us to discover who we are in Christ. Today is a new beginning. Every day is a new beginning, and every day you and I we have to make a decision – will we trust the Lord? God will not forsake us. He will walk alongside us as we draw alongside him.
The Lord longs for us to draw near to him. Are you willing to draw alongside the Lord and let him fulfil the purpose that he has for you? Or will you walk on your own path thinking that you will reach your full potential? What do you choose? I choose to draw alongside the Lord – even though it is hard. Sometimes it is easier to do what we want to do.
But this for me is a new season, new beginnings and I will trust the Lord to provide for my needs because he is a way maker, a promise keeper, a miracle worker and I am not alone. Hallelujah.
