Walking on the wide and straight path is boring. It’s where the crowds go. It’s where the general population goes. Finding the narrow path isn’t always simple, but when you search for it intently you will find it. You will find God if you search for Him in earnest. Why is it so hard to believe that God is here in the midst of all that we do? Why is it so hard to do what God has called us to do? Why is it so challenging for us to pick up our good habits and work on what God has given us? What is stopping us from doing what God has asked us to do? Have you allowed the enemy to come in to hide the talent that God has given you? 

God says don’t be afraid to use what I have given you. Keep sewing and you will bear much fruit for my kingdom. Don’t listen to the voices that tell you that you are not good enough. Because you know what – you are good enough. You are brave and courageous and God has not made you for the gutter. He has made you unique in His image. He has shown us the way from darkness into the light. Don’t let the darkness consume you. Don’t let it take away the joy that you have in Him. Don’t allow the enemy to control your every thought. Focus on what God wants you to do. Focus. Now is not the time to be distracted. It is time to be focused and time to keep your eyes firmly rooted on the Lord. 

It is that time where we need to draw closer to God and ask Him for direction. It is that time where we need to realise that God isn’t asking us for much. He wants us to use what He has given us to reach the multitudes of people around us. God loves you more than you will ever know. Do you believe it? Are you afraid of using it? Are you afraid of what people might think of you? What is stopping you from fulfilling the calling that the Lord has on your life?

I was walking my Bonnie the dog today and we went on a path looking for the narrow path that leads us to be closer to God’s kingdom. It was so peaceful and beautiful. With the water gently flowing besides us. Then eventually we came onto this wide and straight path. It was treacherous and boring. It felt like it was dragging us down, the steps were heavy and filled with pain. It felt like we were going further and further away from the Lord. And then you hear God whisper to find the narrow path that will lead to everlasting life. I kept my eyes peeled on the path looking for the narrow way that leads to life and there it was, down the steps to an entirely different kind of Kingdom. It was a place of light, adventure, joy and peace. Bonnie jumped into the water along the riverbank and splashed around. I just admired God’s goodness. How finding a different path can bring so much joy and peace compared to a path that is wide, straight and boring, with no life, just the endless monotonous of life. Life should be joyful, it should lead you to places that we’ve not seen before, it should be filled with adventure and peace. But when you veer off course sometimes, you get lost and you become afraid. 

God does not want you to be afraid. He says come to me all you are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest for your soul. God says you my child are not alone. I am with you always, calling you by name because I have chosen you. Now all you have to do is choose me. Choose life he whispers.
