Matthew 6:25 – Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing.
Praise the Lord our King for He knows exactly what we need and how to get us there even if it is challenging. As much as I want to be in control of everything, I am learning a rather hard lesson of late. God doesn’t want us to be in control of our lives. Rather He wants to be the Captain of our lives. He wants to steer the ship. Letting go is sometimes the hardest thing to do, and yet when you let go you experience a kind of freedom that was never experienced before.
Why worry about something that you do not have control over? What will worrying bring you? It doesn’t lead you anywhere except anxiety and stress. If something doesn’t happen according to how you wanted it to happen then maybe God is trying to say something to you or me. Slow down. Don’t worry. Turn your eyes on to the Lord and He will lead the way for you. Worrying doesn’t give us extra time. It just brings tears of frustration. I have to surrender the struggle to the Lord. I have to surrender the worry to God and believe by faith that He will provide.
I know that God will provide for my every need. He has done it before, why wouldn’t He do it again? He always makes me wait to the very last moment. So, He’s teaching me patience and perseverance. A hard lesson but one worth learning. I am not going to worry about tomorrow, about what we are going to eat, or what we are going to wear but focus my eyes on the King of Kings and sing praises to Him as hard as the circumstances may be sometimes.
You use up so much energy when you focus only on trying to find a solution to the problem. Why not sit back and allow God to take over? What will you do with your worry? I am going to focus more on my writing, more on the blessings God has given me and not focus on what He has not given me. I am going to choose to praise Him even when I don’t know when my next income will be. God knows and everything will work out according to the glory of God’s kingdom.
The Lord is good and faithful and I want to be His faithful servant. What will you do with your worry? I am going to lay it down at the cross and not pick it up anymore. For God is good. Amen.
