Night terror, fear of the dark, night sweats
All wrapped into one big cloud of darkblack dripping cold sweat
Heart racing, running, running, running, running, running
Into the stillness of forgotten dreams
The pounding of feet behind you as you glance frantically
Looking for a safe place to hide. This…
…Fear grips your very soul, as the enemy takes hold of you
Lulls you into a false sense of security
You drown, and your arms flay as you desperately
Try to cling onto something. A broken vessel.
Sinking deep into the rushing water
As your beating heart races
Against the enemy of your soul
Slowly realizations dawns on you
The enemy is scaring you into a whirlpool of negativity.
Scaring you to throw plans away
And then…
A rendezvous in a forgotten landscape
A single cross stands
My racing body sinks at the foot of the cross
My broken body heaving for a gulp of fresh air
Surely He will save you from the fowler’s snare
He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings
You will find refuge, His faithfulness will be your
Shield and rampart. (Psalm 91)
Prayer, prayer, prayer, prayer is the only answer
Call onto Him and He will save you.
He will give you rest.
