God’s Plea

Psalm 91:1-2 – Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’

To be able to trust in God, and to know without a doubt that He has us in the palm of His hands should be the greatest joy we have. You only have to call upon His name and He will rescue you from the fowlers snare. The One who created us loves us with a deepness that no-one else can ever match. His love is without conditions, it goes from as far as the East goes to the West. He doesn’t expect us to do anything for Him. God wants us to be. God wants us to be of His kingdom, not of this world. Yet Christianity all around us is dying. The old ways are being clouded over by the modern way of life. Who sees the brokenness that has befallen our world? What about life after death? Why is there so much suffering?

Turn from your ways, nation. I beseech you to turn from the ways of the world, take your focus of yourself and put your focus solely on the Lord our God. He is the way to eternal life. Cry out to Him. I see a world around me dying because people do not believe. I see a world falling into the depths of chaos because people stopped caring, because the world has become a place of increasingly where self is more important than anything else. Stop striving. Stop doing everything in your own strength. God is your strength.  Listen to that small voice inside you. ‘Come, I’m the way, the truth and life, I will give you eternal life. Believe.’ God is calling each of our names. He beckons us to surrender our lives, to lay everything at the foot of the cross and to serve His kingdom.

I see a world plunging into darkness because we are too blind to see the goodness of our Father in heaven. God says ‘Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. For my yolk is easy.’ People of this world – God loves you. God is calling. Don’t you see all around you the chaos that we have? If we stopped focusing on ourselves and started turning our gaze to the Lord and to helping others before ourselves then things will start changing. God is crying out to us to help his nations. To help people that are suffering, that are broken. A kind act starts within the home, it then moves out of the home to the neighbours and so on. God wants us to think of others before ourselves. He wants us to have serving hearts. A heart that is willing. A heart that will follow the ways of Jesus. Jesus was our example all those years ago. Showing us how to serve the community without condemnation or judgement. Just a gentleness and a love beyond measure.

Why is it so difficult to see that God loves you? Why don’t you see that fear is binding you, taking over your whole being and why can you not see the love that God has for you? Don’t you realise that fearing takes as much energy as exercising faith. The only difference is when you exercise faith – God is standing behind you. He’s strengthening you and giving you the courage to face your fears. To be in constant fear is not believing that God has His best in store for you. I urge you to believe. I urge you to put your fears aside, stop striving, let go and let God in. It’s hard for me to. But the more I get to know the Lord the more I want to remain in my belief of him, the less I want to be associated to fear. I want to have faith. I want to cling onto the Lord who is the giver of life, the truth, and the way to eternal life. We tend to build our treasures here on Earth, so focused on the future that lays before us, that we forget to build our treasures in heaven. Life is fragile. It can be here one moment, gone the next. Let’s start focusing on what is important. And stop fretting on the things that we cannot change. Let God be your anchor. Hold onto Him.
